Human chain has appeared in UK, United States, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Ukraine, and many other countries. One of the most famous example was the "Baltic Way" of Aug 23 1989, where two million people joined hands across Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania to advocate for independence.
On August 23, 2019, Hong Kong people joined hands to form a 50 kilometers long "Hong Kong Way" human chain, leading all the way to the top of Lion Rock hill, shining beams of light overlooking Hong Kong. It was estimated 210,000 Hong Kongers joined hands on that day.
